Creamy and refreshing, this Strawberry Swirl Frozen Yogurt is a healthier dessert option that combines the tang of Greek yogurt with the sweetness of fresh strawberries. The vibrant pink swirls make it a feast for the eyes as much as for the taste buds. Simple to make without an ice cream maker, this is the perfect treat for warm days—or anytime you’re craving something light and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Strawberry Swirl:

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, diced
  • 3 tbsp honey (or maple syrup for a vegan twist)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Yogurt Base:

  • 2 cups plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt (or dairy-free yogurt)
  • 1/4 cup honey (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Strawberry Swirl

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine strawberries, honey, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the berries break down into a jam-like consistency.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Allow the mixture to cool completely in the fridge.

Step 2: Prepare the Yogurt Base

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together yogurt, honey, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust the sweetness if needed.

Step 3: Assemble and Swirl

  1. In a freezer-safe container (like a loaf pan), add a layer of yogurt, followed by spoonfuls of the strawberry sauce. Repeat until all yogurt and sauce are layered.
  2. Use a butter knife or skewer to gently swirl the strawberry sauce through the yogurt. Don’t overmix—you want distinct swirls.

Step 4: Freeze and Serve

  1. Cover the container tightly with plastic wrap or a lid and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  2. Before serving, let the frozen yogurt sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes for easier scooping.
