A refreshing and creamy tropical sorbet made with canned fruits and a touch of banana, perfect for summer days or as a light dessert. This easy-to-make recipe uses the Ninja Creami to transform simple ingredients into a silky, fruity treat that feels indulgent yet wholesome.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup canned pineapple (diced or cubed, with juice)
  • ½ cup canned red grapefruit sections (with juice)
  • ½ cup canned mandarin orange slices (with juice)
  • ½ small banana (peeled and mashed)
  • 1 tablespoon maraschino cherries (optional, for mix-ins)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruit Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the pineapple, grapefruit, and mandarin oranges with their juices. Add the mashed banana and mix well until combined.
  2. Fill the Pint Container: Pour the fruit mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container up to the max fill line. If you have extra mixture, freeze it separately in another container or baking pan.
  3. Freeze Overnight: Place the container in your freezer on a flat surface and freeze for at least 24 hours until solid.
  4. Process in the Ninja Creami: Remove the frozen pint from the freezer, place it in the outer bowl of your Ninja Creami machine, and select the “Sorbet” function. Process until smooth and creamy.
  5. Optional Mix-Ins: If desired, make a small well in the center of the sorbet, add maraschino cherries or other mix-ins, and reprocess using the “Mix-In” function.

Notes

Serving Suggestions

Serve in chilled bowls or glasses for an elegant presentation. Garnish with fresh fruit slices or mint leaves for added flair.

Tips & Tricks

  • Use fruit packed in juice (not syrup) for a lighter, more natural flavor.
  • If the sorbet appears crumbly after processing, add a tablespoon of juice or water and use the “Re-spin” function for a smoother texture.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftover sorbet in its pint container with a secure lid for up to two weeks in the freezer. For best results, let it sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before serving to soften slightly.
