A refreshing and tangy sorbet made with sweet blueberries and zesty lemon, perfect for a light dessert or cooling summer treat. This easy-to-make recipe combines vibrant fruit flavors with a creamy texture, thanks to the Ninja Creami.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries (rinsed)
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 23 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup sweetener (sugar, honey, or preferred alternative)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest (optional)
  • 12 tablespoons water (as needed for blending)

Instructions

  1. Blend the Base: In a blender or food processor, combine blueberries, lemon juice, sweetener, and lemon zest (if using). Blend until smooth. Add water gradually if the mixture is too thick. The texture should be silky and pourable.
  2. Freeze the Mixture: Transfer the blended mixture into a freezer-safe container. Cover tightly to prevent freezer burn and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
  3. Process in Ninja Creami: Once frozen solid, let the container sit at room temperature for 5 minutes to soften slightly. Break the mixture into chunks and place it in the Ninja Creami bowl. Process using the “Sorbet” function.
  4. Adjust Texture if Needed: If the sorbet isn’t creamy enough after processing, use the “Re-spin” function until you achieve a smooth consistency.
  5. Serve & Enjoy: Scoop into bowls or cones, garnish with fresh berries, mint leaves, or extra lemon zest for added flair.

Notes

Serving Suggestions:

  • Pair with shortbread cookies or top with toasted coconut flakes for added crunch.

Tips & Tricks:

  • Use fresh lemon juice for optimal flavor; bottled juice may alter the taste.
  • If using frozen blueberries, thaw them slightly before blending.
  • Scrape down the blender sides to ensure even mixing.

Storage & Reheating:

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for up to one week.
  • Let frozen sorbet sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before serving again.
  • Re-spin in the Ninja Creami if needed to restore creaminess.
