This vibrant and refreshing blackberry sorbet is the perfect blend of sweet and tangy. Made with fresh blackberries and a hint of citrus, it’s a simple yet elegant dessert that’s ideal for hot summer days or anytime you crave a fruity treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Make Simple Syrup: Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.
  2. Prepare Blackberry Puree: Rinse blackberries thoroughly and blend them in a blender or food processor until smooth. Strain the puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl to remove seeds, pressing with a spoon to extract all the juice.
  3. Mix Ingredients: Add the cooled simple syrup, lemon juice, and salt to the strained blackberry puree. Stir until fully combined. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  4. Freeze Mixture: Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container, ensuring it doesn’t exceed the MAX FILL line. Level the surface and freeze on a flat surface for at least 24 hours.
  5. Process in Ninja Creami: After freezing, install the pint container into your Ninja Creami machine. Select the “Sorbet” setting and process for about 5 minutes. If the texture is crumbly, use the “Re-spin” function for a smoother consistency.
  6. Serve & Enjoy: Scoop into bowls or cones and serve immediately!

Notes

Serving Suggestions: Garnish with fresh blackberries, mint leaves, or a drizzle of honey for an extra touch of elegance.

Tips & Tricks:

  • Straining the blackberry puree ensures a smooth texture but can be skipped if you prefer a rustic feel with seeds.
  • Always freeze on a flat surface to ensure even processing in the Ninja Creami machine.

Storage & Reheating: Store leftovers in the Ninja Creami pint container with its lid secured tightly for up to two weeks in the freezer. To soften, let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes or re-spin in the machine.
