These Frozen Banana Dog Treats are a simple, refreshing snack for your furry friend. Combining the natural sweetness of bananas, creamy Greek yogurt, and the nutty goodness of peanut butter, this recipe is as easy to make as it is nutritious. Perfect for hot days or as a guilt-free treat, these frozen delights are sure to earn you extra tail wags!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups plain Greek yogurt (unsweetened and unflavored)
  • 3 ripe bananas (peeled)
  • ½ cup creamy natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)

Ingredient Notes & Substitutions:

  • Use ripe bananas for their natural sweetness—they should have brown spots for the best flavor.
  • If your dog is sensitive to dairy, substitute Greek yogurt with coconut yogurt or mashed pumpkin puree.
  • Always check that peanut butter is xylitol-free, as xylitol is toxic to dogs.

Instructions

Step 1: Blend the Ingredients

Peel the bananas and place them in a high-powered blender along with the Greek yogurt and peanut butter. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy, with no lumps remaining. If needed, scrape down the sides of the blender to ensure everything mixes evenly.

Pro Tip: If your peanut butter is thick, microwave it for 10 seconds to make it easier to blend.

Step 2: Pour into Molds

Set your silicone molds on a baking sheet for stability. Carefully pour the mixture into each mold cavity, filling them almost to the top. Gently tap the tray on the counter to remove any air bubbles trapped in the mixture.

Visual Cue: The surface should look smooth and level after tapping.

Step 3: Freeze Until Solid

Place the tray in your freezer and freeze for at least one hour or until completely solid. Once frozen, pop the treats out of the molds and transfer them to an airtight container for storage.

Notes

Serving Suggestions:

Serve these treats straight from the freezer as a cooling snack on hot days! For smaller dogs, cut larger treats into bite-sized pieces before serving.

Tips & Tricks:

  • Use silicone molds for easy removal—paw or bone shapes add a fun touch! If you don’t have molds, ice cube trays or small paper cups work just as well.
  • Ensure all ingredients are dog-safe; avoid artificial sweeteners like xylitol in peanut butter or yogurt.

Storage & Reheating:

  • Store frozen treats in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. This makes them perfect for meal prep!
  • No reheating needed—serve directly from the freezer! If too hard, let them sit at room temperature for about 30 seconds before serving.
