Avocado ice cream is a luscious dessert that brings together the buttery smoothness of ripe avocados with a touch of sweetness. Perfect for summer or any time you crave something indulgent yet refreshing, this recipe is simple to make and sure to impress!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe avocados (about 600g before pitting), peeled and pitted
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar (150g)
  • ¼ cup honey or corn syrup (84g)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups heavy cream

Tip: Use perfectly ripe avocados for the creamiest texture. Substitute almond or coconut milk for a dairy-free version.

Instructions

  1. Blend the Base: Add avocado flesh, milk, sugar, honey, vanilla extract, and salt to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy. The mixture should be vibrant green with no lumps.
  2. Incorporate Cream: Pour the avocado mixture into a large mixing bowl. Add the heavy cream and whisk until fully combined and smooth.
  3. Churn It Up: Transfer the mixture to your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (typically 25–45 minutes). The texture should resemble soft serve.
  4. Freeze to Perfection: Scoop the churned ice cream into a loaf pan or freezer-safe container. Cover tightly and freeze for at least 3 hours until firm.
  5. Serve & Enjoy: Let the ice cream sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before scooping for easier serving.
